Come join us for ARTS Summer Camp! Registration is now OPEN and we are accepting students aged 4-13 years old! ARTS will be hosting Summer Camp each and every week that school is out ~ we’re here when you need us! Camp days will go from 7:30am to 6pm, and will take place all 11 weeks of summer break. We’re looking forward to seeing new faces this summer and do hope you’ll join us!
ARTS Summer Activities
With our all-inclusive package your children will be able to experience a wide range of enrichment activities, such as:
- Dance - ballet, creative movement, hip hop, jazz and more!
- Martial Arts - provided by Logans Martial Arts Academy, certified black belt instructors teaching Shaowlin Kempo and sparring.
- Art - age appropriate activities include everything from coloring to oil painting and sculpting!
- Music - small group music classes focusing on voice, violin, rhythm, piano, guitar, and song writing.
- Sewing - learn the basics of sewing a button back on to creating home decor!
- Gymnastics - fun tumbling, flipping, and stretching for all ages!
- Drama - combining music, dance, and drama makes for some great mini-performances to share with fellow students!
- Academics - reading, math practice, and academic refreshers provided through out the summer!
- Other activities include guest speakers, performances, movies, games, and free-play.
- *Children may bring their own electronic devices to use only during designated times. ARTS is not responsible for any losses or damage.

Weekly Field Trips:
- There is an addition fee for participation in off site activities
- Field trip pricing will be set by May 1, 2014.
Drop-ins are also welcome, for $47 per day per child!
A $20/week/child deposit is due at the time of registration.
- June 2-6 LEGO MINECRAFT CREATIVE
Bring your imagination as we build colorful cities and design inventive creations! We will be building life size MineCraft props out of recycled goods to create a world of imaginative play! Classes will focus on colorful characters and animate figures as well as playful “robotic” moves. Campers will explore what it takes to create a fun and exciting world where the imagination has no boundaries! Join us as we travel to the one and only Lego Land in sunny Orlando, FL!
*Only MineCraft creative mode will be allowed. Please do not bring your own Legos.
June 9-13 BE SAFE, BE STRONG!
This week is all about safety, confidence and your own strengths. We will be learning important character building and self-defense skills. The week’s special guests will include Leon County EMS, Leon County Sheriff’s Department, and others. Our optional field trip will be to Logan’s Martial Arts Academy for a self-defense seminar with the Red Man!
- June 16-20 WILD WORLD OF ANIMALS
Who doesn’t love animals? This week will be focused on educating ourselves on how to treat, care for and love animals! We will be making special treats for birds, exploring animal movements and working on multiple projects with animal influences. We will be visited by the animal control van as our guest speaker will be Kerry Hyde of Leon County Animal Service Center. Our optional field trip will be to the Tallahassee Museum where campers will learn about various animals as they go for a nature walk through the animal world!
June 23-27 GO BIG, GO GREEN!
Our planet is huge and it will take a lot of hands to keep it clean! This week is focused on plant life, appreciating a clean earth, and gardening! We will be learning about plants and their many benefits and uses. We will be using recycled materials to create gifts and creative, useful household projects. We also will learn how to grow our own plants! Our special guest this week will be an experienced gardener who works with plants! Our optional field trip this week will be to Orchard Ponds Organics, touring the Esposito’s garden center, and even the Leon County Recycling Plant.
- June 30 – July 3 BE FIT, BE GREAT!
Living a healthy lifestyle is important for success and happiness. This week’s theme focuses on educating our children on how to create healthy habits that will last a life time. We will be talking about the importance, science and benefits behind nutrition, fitness and healthy habits. We will have guest speakers on nutrition, wellness and fitness. Classes will focus on art and dance as a stress reliever as well as martial arts. Our optional field trip will be to a kitchen where campers will have an opportunity to prepare their own healthy treat.
- July 7 – 11 SPACE BLAST & BEYOND!
Lift off of the space shuttle ARTS! Through this week we will be wandering space and time! Who doesn’t love exploring the universe and building their own space ships? Campers will go on an out of this world voyage as they explore the vast world above us. Through artistic design, creative movement, and engaging science lessons, campers will journey to another world and land safely back on Earth with a wealth of new knowledge. Our optional field trip will be to the FSU planetarium, with guest speakers from the FSU astronomy and engineering departments.
- July 14 – 18 WE’RE HEADING TO THE BEACH!
Aloha friends! This week we will be having our own beach party right here at ARTS! Hula skirts, leis, and beach balls are always a fun way to celebrate summer. While our dancers learn how to hula, our artists will write messages to put in bottles. Campers will travel to the beautiful Florida coast to explore and learn about marine ecology as well as ocean conservation and its many interesting creatures! Grab your flip flops and beach towels and join us for sand castle building and a sea side lunch as our optional field trips will include Gulf Specimen Marine Lab as well as St. Marks Lighthouse.
- July 21 – 25 LET’S GET INVOLVED!
Have you ever wondered what it takes to make a difference in our world? Well come find out as we focus on the importance of treating others with kindness as well as respecting and appreciating other walks of life. Campers will have the opportunity to pick a community service project that they would like to complete during the course of the week which will teach campers the benefits of giving back to their communities. All classes will infuse the lesson of doing what we can to leave a positive mark on our world in an exciting and engaging way. Guest speaker from Boys Town.
- July 28 – August 1 ONCE UPON A TIME…
Let the tournament begin! Head back to the Medieval Times in this exciting week of Knights and shining armor and damsels in distress. Everyone will be a princess or a prince with a kingdom of their own, or maybe would rather have a pet dragon! Campers will explore what it takes to be a proper princess and charming heroic knight. Lessons will include etiquette/chivalry, medieval music and dancing as well as art in the age of the renaissance! Our special guests will be from the FSU Live Action Roll Playing Organization and will be giving children insight on how to act, and speak the language of the age. . Our optional field trip will be to Mission San Luis to experience the life of a blacksmith. The week will conclude with a fun jousting tournament and medieval games.
- August 4 – 8 LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!!!
Let your inner star shine as we focus on the behind the scenes of creating film, books, songs and plays. Our optional field trip will be taken to the FSU School of Theater or Young Actors Theater where the children will experience the feeling and excitement of being on stage. Special guest speakers from the FSU Film School.
- August 11 – 15 CELEBRATION!
This week is all about celebrating summer and the beginning of school! Instructors and special guests will be talking about the importance of school and preparing the children for an exciting year ahead. Celebration activities will include bounce houses, bubbles, fun games, summer foods and an exciting trip to Skate World.
